Responsibilities
The Chief Nursing Officer for the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital (NPH) provides strategic leadership, operational and clinical oversight for all aspects of nursing practice and operations.
NPH is a 74-bed acute psychiatric hospital and is one of the first psychiatric facilities in the nation to receive the prestigious Magnet® designation.
Our Neuropsychiatric Hospital is a key part of UCLA Health and the major psychiatry teaching facility of the David Geffen School of Medicine.

Qualifications
Required:
Current valid California Registered Nursing License BSN/MSN Doctorate in Nursing or equivalent preferred Nurse Executive Advanced ANCC Certification or equivalent preferred 5 years of progressive nursing management with a minimum of 5 years in an academic medical center with high level of organizational and hospital responsibility Inpatient psychiatric nurse management experience in acute care setting preferred Inpatient psychiatric nursing experience in an acute care setting Strong clinical background in healthcare Skills in strategic planning, budget management, organizing and prioritizing Prior experience with Joint Commission and CMS survey preparation and management preferred Knowledge and ability to establish Clinical Care standards and nursing interventions Knowledge and ability to design conduct and disseminate research and evidence for the improvement of patient care
Based on the American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing Administration’s Scope of Standards, the CNO is responsible for the standards of practice and the standards of professional performance for nursing in the organization.
Roles and responsibilities are also in alignment with the organization’s professional practice model including the principles of role-based practice, relationship-based care, and recovery model (Resnick) and the components of the Magnet model.
