Our client, a distinguished mid-size firm in California, is on the lookout for a Chief Growth Officer (CGO) to join their dynamic team in Los Angeles. As the CGO, you will play a crucial role in shaping and driving the firm’s strategic objectives related to revenue growth and attorney recruitment. Reporting directly to the Firm Managing Partner and closely collaborating with the Firm Chairman and executive management team, you will have managerial oversight of key support departments, including Legal Recruiting, Marketing/Branding & Business Development. Additionally, you will work closely with the Chairs of the Litigation and Transactional Departments, overseeing financial performance, productivity, attorney staffing, and retention.

The Chief Growth Officer is responsible for creating and implementing comprehensive plans to accelerate revenue growth through proven legal recruitment strategies, robust marketing/branding initiatives, and targeted business development.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Growth Management:

  • Create detailed strategic growth plan outlining key targets, milestones, and action steps for lateral hires.
  • Achieve key billing and productivity targets

Retention Management:

  • Establish attorney retention strategy
  • Analyze attrition data, conduct exit interviews, and adapt retention strategies based on insights.
  • Roll out initiatives such as leadership development, coaching/training opportunities, team-building activities, and skills-development courses to boost attorney satisfaction and long-term retention.

Operational Efficiency:

  • Collaborate with the COO to introduce technology solutions.
  • Work with the Chief Financial Officer to develop, oversee, and optimize budgets aligned with growth and retention goals.
  • Establish key performance indicators for informed, data-driven decisions.
