Work Hours/Shift Full Time Days, 36 hours per week, 7ato 7p You Will Be Responsible For Provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or physician Assist patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care and emotional support.
Provide care appropriate to condition and age of patient, including pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population Under the direction of an RN, in addition to performing the Nurse Aide I Tasks outlined by the NCBON, the C.N.A II performs core Nurse Aide II Tasks outlined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and according to AdventHealth C.N.A.
II scope of practice policy: Oxygen therapy (set-up, monitoring flowrate) Sterile Dressing Change (wound >48 hours old, not first post-op dressing change) Wound irrigation I.V.
fluid Assistive Activities (Assemble/flush tubing during set-up, discontinue peripheral IV fluids) Nutrition Activities (Oral/nasogastric infusions after placement verified by RN, gastrostomy feedings, clamping tubes, removal of oral/nasogastric feeding tubes) Elimination procedures (Ostomy care) Urinary Catheters (catheterizations) Participate in the admission process by taking vital signs and height and/or weights.
Orient the patient and family to the room.
Provide care which may include bathing, oral hygiene, peri care, freshening linen, cleaning overbed tables, straightening room and other general care as directed by the RN.
Provide general nursing care such as positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, applying/utilizing special equipment, and ambulating patients.
Contribute relevant and appropriate information to the RN for the daily revision of the plan of care.
Promptly report any changes in patient status (eg.
Changes in vital signs, level of consciousness, weight, mobility status, comfort level, feeding pattern or any unusual occurrences) to the RN in a timely manner.
Verify the diet order for each patient to whom assigned, feed or assist with feeding, and assist with fluid intake as directed by the RN or patient care plan.
Set up and checks equipment for proper functioning.
Remove malfunctioning equipment and enter work order.
Follow procedures for standard precautions at all times.
Monitor and accurately record patient intake and output in a timely fashion and in accordance with hospital policy and physician order including routine intake and output, strict intake and output, and calorie counts Transport patient to various depts for ordered tests/procedures Document provided care clearly and concisely in the EMR Observe patient’s mental and physical conditions, report any changes to the RN Distribute drinking water and snacks to patients as applicable Treat patients and families with respect and dignity Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Use proper body mechanics to protect self and patient.
Knowledgeable of sterile techniques and infection control procedures Performing Non-nursing patient care activities as outlined in the Nurse Aide II Scope of Practice policy for AdventHealth.
QualificationsWhat You Will Need High School diploma or equivalent required Able to communicate effecrtively in English, both verballly and in writing required Current CNA II listing of the North Carolina Board of Nursing Nurse Aide II Registry required Current BLS certification required Job Summary Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the Rn or physician.
