About the Role

We have a major passion for natural beauty and a genuine desire to deliver the best in green beauty and holistic living at The Detox Market!

We are looking for a mid-level Category Buyer who is directly responsible for vendor relations, negotiations, procurement, pricing, and promotions of brands/products within a designated category(s).

You will report to our Director of Brand Partnerships to identify opportunities in product assortments in store and online.

You should be passionate about the beauty industry with an eye for trends and innovation.

This role is the second step in the buying progression (after Director of Brand Partnerships) and is responsible for large volume and both highly visible and growing categories.

Responsibilities
Work closely with Director of Brand Partnerships to curate and maintain best in class green beauty assortment on The Detox Market’s shelves Build and manage the launch calendar for assigned categories Develop and maintain strong working relationships as with key vendors within assigned categories Build promotional marketing calendar for assigned categories with brand partners to secure samples, GWPS, exclusive launches, collaborations Build and maintain new brand submission database Identify and capitalize on key product trends within assigned categories to maximize revenue Strategically procure new vendors within assigned categories that are aligned with brand vision and financial goals Maintain and demonstrate constant understanding of the competitive environment Develop a strong understanding of the customer demographics via social channels, customer service feedback, sales, and researching the landscape Partner closely with the operations team to ensure vendors adhere to shipping requirements, RTVs, and timely deliveries Present quarterly trend analysis and launch strategy with DBP to Marketing Team and CEO.

Attend trade shows when opportunities present themselves Maintain assigned category open to buy with Planning team Attend weekly or bi-weekly OTB, Sales Review, and New Brand meetings Work with brand partners to strategically and compassionately exit brands when deemed necessary

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required 3-5 years experience in buying and/or merchandising 4-6 years experience in beauty Excellent communication skills; written, oral and inter-personal Strong contacts in beauty industry Knowledge of supply chain planning practices and ordering Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred NetSuite, Shopify, Asana experience a plus Strong negotiation skills Ability to handle frequent interruptions and shifting priorities Ability to work independently and employ effective time management skills Detail oriented with a strong emphasis on organizational skills Passion for green beauty recommended but not required Bonus points for past experience working on a retail sales floor
