Caregivers, DSP, IHSS Needed to Work with Elderly Homeless Population

JFS Care is looking for Caregivers, Direct Support Professional (DSP), and IHSS workers who have experience working with the elderly and developmental disabilities.

We are currently looking for compassionate and professional part-time and full-time caregivers to work one-on-one with this vulnerable population.

These older individuals are at risk of being homeless, rehabilitated substance users who were once homeless, or low-income individuals who cannot afford adequate care for themselves.

You do not have reliable transportation
Must be able to work in the Greater LA Downtown Area
You do not have the patience or understanding to work with individuals with challenging behaviors
You do not have experience with caregiving, working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or working with the homeless population

Mileage Reimbursement (whenever you drive for the client during your shift)
Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for every single day use
At least 2 years of experience preferred
Experience working with Dementia, Alzheimer, Parkinson’s, Hoarding, Schizophrienia, Bipolar, Cancer patients, mobility issues, or Behavioral Challenges are a plus
Physical capacity to reach and bend as needed to assist individuals who require physical assistance
Home Care Aide Registration ID #
Able to pass a DOJ/ FBI background check
Able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.A.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Current TB test (less than a year old)
Up-to-date CPR or First Aid Certifications
Physical capacity for transferring and assisting persons who require physical assistance
The Covid-19 vaccine is a requirement for this position.

A valid religious or medical exemption would be accepted but would require submission of weekly COVID-19 testing.
