Business System Analyst II

ResponsibilitiesThis position provides programming, database development/management, andadvanced analytical data support to Performance Strategy and Analyticsdepartment at UCLA Health.

The incumbent provides systematic data support todata-driven performance improvement efforts.

The incumbent will be responsiblefor gathering requirements, designing, building, and maintaining SQLworkspace/applications and databases used in reporting/data submissions tointernal and external agencies performance improvement initiatives andcollaborative.

The incumbent prepares reports and builds Tableau dashboards,and shares findings with leaders and providers who focus on improving patientcare at UCLA Health.

The incumbent also assists with the identification ofcritical issues and development of solutions using the PDCA and Leanmethodologies.

The incumbent is required to work effectively as part of SystemSupport team and work productively with the department staff while assuring themaximum use of technology to promote efficient work systems.

The Incumbentshould conduct all the quality assurance testing of all the projects they workon before sending the final product to the users.

The incumbent needs to havestrong intellectual curiosity and passion for performance improvement and mustbe flexible with ability to work well as part of the “team”.QualificationsRequired:* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics or a related field, and three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.* Strong analytical and problem solving skills* Expertise in data management and system integration* Excellent understanding of EMR data Structures and cross-referencing the elements in SQL clarity/workspace data models* 3+ years programming experience in multiple languages, tools and libraries including SQL, SAS, R, Python, MS Visual Studio* 2+ years in Tableau and Excel* 2+ year experience with report development* 1+ year experience with ETL environments* 2+ year experience in Healthcare Industry* Demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly* Excellent communication skillsPREFERRED:* MBA or MS in statistics, computer science, mathematics, or other quantitative analytical fields* 3+ year experience in data management and data analysis* 2+ year experience in healthcare patient experience reporting* Epic Clarity and/or Cogito Certification is desiredUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
