Business Development – (LA) Auto Aftermarket Products

 General Job Description
The Business Developer will be responsible of building market position by identifying sales leads on after and auto-refinsh market, pitching products to new clients, defining, negotiating, and closing business with new contacts. Also, will be responsible for maintenance and growing the specialized distributors (jobbers) accounts.
 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities include:
Weekly schedule management

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new product solutions and services to clients.
  • Develop the pipeline of new business coming into the company. This requires a thorough knowledge of the market, the products the company can provide, and of the company’s competitors.
  • Business networking with jobbers at all level of organization.
  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching aftermarket, auto-refinsh market, related events, publications, and announcements: tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities
  • Execution of consultative selling process focusing on delivering added value solutions.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs of existing relationships.
  • Attend aftermarket and auto-finish shows, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities through market research using digital and social data to foster distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

    Additional Functions & Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system.
  • Funnel management of all stages of sales lifecycle.
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose so that will continue to enhance the company’s performance.
  • Contracts negotiation.

    CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 to 5 years minimum of sales experience at a same role  (business developer)
  • Aftermarket, auto-finish market and jobbers acumen is required.
  • Highly customer focused (customer centric culture)
  • Leveraged insights and analytics to improve business performance.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Formal training on consultative selling be considered a plus.
  • Highly hands-on and effective profile, accustomed to streamline daily Sales operations.
  • Strong decision-making, analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel (up to 50%)
  • CRM experience (salesforce is a plus)
  • Cold calling experience
