Braze Engineer

Summary

This role is a direct report to the General Manager and will be based in our Rancho Dominguez, CA plant. The Braze Engineer provides brazing and assembly process assistance to the plant. This role is responsible for the development of brazing systems and technology to ensure that services are provided meet the contractual requirements established by customers and procedures.

Major Responsibilities

  • Direct activities of braze department to meet company goals.
  • Develop new brazing processes for new work, select the appropriate plant for it, place the work, and train plant employees in accordance with BMS requirements.
  • Ensure periodic braze tests are performed per Nadcap, AS9100 and other prime requirements.
  • Purchase alloys and maintain an inventory level to match ongoing business needs.
  • Review job travelers to ensure work instructions are clear without ambiguity.
  • Work with plant personnel & customers to evaluate and solve braze related issues.
  • Provide technical support to Sales and assist with braze related quotations.
  • Evaluate plant brazing capabilities as needed to recommend new equipment, equipment upgrades, or new technology.

We Are Seeking Candidates With The Following Qualifications

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder
  • Education: Engineer Degree or (equivalent experience) in metallurgical, materials, or welding engineering.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in thermal process processing with emphasis on brazing processes (furnace, induction, or torch, etc.)
  • Must be knowledgeable of tooling needs and costs. Tooling design experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and customer specifications.

Compensation $95K-$125K plus benefits
