The unit has responsibilities from initial business case to roadmap delivery, launch, and ongoing support operations.
All of BCGs core product and AI capabilities are housed within the business unit including data engineers, data scientists and business consultants who specialize in the use of advanced analytics to get high-impact business results, as well as product management, design, development, support and data analytics experts who work in deep collaboration with BCG practice areas, clients and consulting teams.
This team of highly motivated and insightful colleagues will provide an opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial, start-up environment supported by a global management consulting firm, which is the worlds leading advisor on business strategy The Platform Specialist will work in collaboration with the Analytics, Consulting and IT teams to implement and support technical solutions for the Analytics practice, with a focus on Infrastructure technologies.
YOU’RE GOOD AT Collaborates with Analytics team, BCG Consultants, BCG IT and external partners to support the computing environment for the Big Data and Advanced Analytics teams.
* Implement solutions and process requests for new infrastructure on the various Analytics platforms hosted on Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google Cloud.
* As part of developing any solution, must be able to translate the various business needs into technical requirements and solutions, identify strategic and financial impacts of any technical solution or offering as it relates to the available Infrastructure/Platform/Software as a Service (I/P/SaaS) options.
* Maintain detailed functional and technical documentation for developed solutions * Provide 2nd level operational support for the Analytics platform and Analytics team (WW) as necessary * Maintain Analytics-specific solutions, including proactive and reactive maintenance, backups and recovery, upgrades and changes * Remote support for other BCG Data & Analytics Center Infrastructure around the world as necessary * Manage licensing of Analytics tools, including development of technical solutions to manage individual product licenses * Work closely with Analytics Platform and Infrastructure Team on advancing overall platform and infrastructure YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS) *Education or Certifications* * Bachelors degree in IT, Computer science, or related field * Nice to have Cloud Certification * Nice to have OS Certification (Preferably Linux related) *Work Experience* * 2 5 years of relevant experience in a commercial IT setting * Nice to have prior experience working in a global organization, preferably another professional services organization *Functional /Technical Skills* * Experience with Cloud-based Services and Support (AWS or Azure or GCP) * Experience with tools such as Docker, Terraform, Cloud Formation a plus * Experience with orchestration and Continuous Integration CircleCI/Jenkins or similar tools a plus * Nice to have development or scripting experience * Comfortable with CLI/VI/Emacs * Languages: Python, PowerShell * Experience supporting server platforms including Windows & Linux * Understanding of IT security best practices and secure data management * Understanding of networking, including TCP/IP routing, firewalls and related technologies * Nice to have experience supporting underlying infrastructure for Data warehousing, Business Intelligence, Big Data * Database Services (RDS, Redshift, Azure SQL, Data Warehouse etc.) * Manipulating and transporting large data sets * Nice to have working knowledge of web services such as SOAP, RESTful, .NET and related technologies (JSON, XML, etc) * Nice to have experience with analytics tools such as Alteryx & Tableau *Communication,interpersonal and teaming skills* * Effective written & verbal communication * Strong interpersonal skills * Collaborative, team player with strong work ethic and service-mentality BCGs information technology group collaboratively delivers the latest digital technologies that enable our consultants to lead and our business to grow.
