Overview: We have a great opportunity at AMLI South Shore.
As the Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the accounting responsibilities of a 450-unit Class A apartment community in downtown Austin.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Collect rent in a timely manner.
Send delinquent notices on outstanding rents and follow-up.
Charge fees as required.
File legal eviction as necessary, when approved by Supervisor.Post rental receipts in the computer and scan daily bank deposits.
Input Accounts Payable information into computer weekly.Update the computer daily with new lease information, move-ins, move-outs, lease renewals, etc.
Process Final Account Statements to close accounts for former residents and applicants.
Follow-up on outstanding balances and submit accounts to collections when necessary.Generate month-end reports and complete checklists, including but not limited to Occupancy Month End, Accounting Month End and Utility Pre-bill.
Maintain organized files for reports, accounts payable and dead files.
Send weekly packages with reports and bills to the Chicago Corporate Office.Maintain the resident information systems and resident files and interact with residents and banks.
Report unusual circumstances regarding the property or residents to the Supervisor.Provide quality customer service and timely response to resident requests and complaints.
This includes helping residents and prospects before, during and after leasing an apartment,EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High School diploma, or general education degree (GED) required, Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior experience in the multifamily/apartment industry is a plus.
