Bookkeeper (Part-Time to Full-Time)

To be responsible for standard accounting/clerical duties in the areas of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in the school’s tuition/business office.

* Reconcile daily charges and cash, checks and bankcard payments.* Process, code, balance, and post over-the-counter payments and bankcards as well as Student payments received in the mail.

* Prepare deposit summary after balancing payments to receipts.* Maintain required student payment records, reports and files.* Create delinquent notices and follow through as well as inform Administrators in a timely manner of such information.* Create and prepare A/R and A/P reports monthly to send to the Finance Dept.* Use computer system to generate information necessary for billing purposes.* Obtain and / or verify necessary demographic and financial information according to protocol.* Maintain various payment spreadsheets for the dept.* Update student information, provide any necessary forms needing completion and obtain necessary signatures.* Post, review and follow up on all correspondence.* Answer the telephone; and take messages when necessary.* Input and collect all parent/student fees (i.e.

monthly hot lunch, early morning care, trips, etc.)* Contact parents via phone and email for delinquent accounts, returned checks and collections.* Pull all students from class for delinquent accounts.* Provide excellent customer service to parents and students.* Other duties as assigned.

* Minimum of 3 years in accounting and / or Bookkeeping experience and no less than 4 years in a demanding high level office environment* Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel * Knowledge of business, budgeting, accounting and bookkeeping.* Written and verbal communication skills.* Interpersonal/human relations skills.* Report preparation skills.* Project coordination skills and attention to detail.* Ability to operate personal computer and software programs.* Ability to maintain confidentiality.* Maintain a high level of professionalism while being interrupted and still have the ability to get needed tasks completed.* Multi-tasked.
