For Victorian based employees, the compliance date is 26 November 2021.All other global Boeing locations do not have a vaccination requirement at this time.The Boeing Defense, Space and Security, (BDS) Space and Launch Division is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer to provide support multiple satellite product lines, CCTS Starliner, SLS rocket, and other spacecraft, located in El Segundo, CA.

This position would entail operating as the propulsion & Pumped Fluid Loop (PFL)responsible engineering authority (REA) for one or more satellite systems components.

Responsibilities would include: Requirements decomposition, verification and validation, component analysis, component test, non-conformance management, root cause and corrective action investigation, and supplier technical interface.

Technologies involved in the position will include some combination of liquid propulsion, electric propulsion, pumped fluid thermal control systems and associated liquid and gas plumbing.

Position Responsibilities:Defines requirements for propulsion components, auxiliary power systems and vehicle fuel and tank systemsCoordinated technical interfaces with component suppliersDevelops component specifications and validates requirement complianceDefine and review various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation efforts to prove component requirement complianceDefines and oversees supplier certification tests for componentsSupports fielded components to assure continued reliabilityCoordinate non-conformances between supplier, internal and external customersLead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations on component non-conformancesAct as technical subject matter expert on assigned components and associated technologiesDevelops concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.

Security Clearance for which the U.S.

Government requires U.S.

Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S.

Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry7+ years of experience in propulsion or pumped fluid engineering Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):A successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government is preferredExperience with Space based propulsion, pressure regulators, fluid systems and/or electric propulsion Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
