The Southern California Global Design Center is currently seeking Level 3 Systems Engineering engineers to become part of the Commercial Modification Execution team in Long Beach, California.

We are looking for an experienced, engaged and motivated System Engineering engineer to join a team of highly skilled Project Engineers supporting Mods Engineering initiatives, supporting Technical Investigations and Issue resolutions at the SoCal Global Design Center located in Long Beach, California.The individual will have an opportunity to support multiple Boeing business units (BCA: Boeing Commercial Airplanes, BDS: Boeing Defense, Space & Security, BGS: Boeing Global Services), working on complex work statements under the guidance of Subject Matter Experts, will be encouraged to participate in mentor/mentee relationships for knowledge transfer.

As part of the Return Flight Program, additional applicant requirements for this position include: individuals who are returning to the workforce after a career break or who have a military service background and are transitioning to the civilian workforce.Return Flight Program Assignments may include:Initial training and development post start dateAttendance and engagement at social and networking events Attendance and engagement during monthly meetings and quarterly check-insCapstone training and development towards the end of programPosition Responsibilities:Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.Supports and performs technical integration of multiple engineering disciplines on projects and identify and report project technical performance metricsDevelops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.Resolves cross-functional technical issues.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Must have taken a career break of at least 1 year OR have a military service background and is transitioning to the civilian workforceDegree in a related field of study and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience).
