Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Lead Thermal Design and Analysis Engineer located in EL Segundo, CA.
Position Responsibilities Include:Leads and provides technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems and thermal environment to establish the system design.
Leads activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements.
Leads the development, maintenance or modification of system components’ designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation.
Manages supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.
Prioritizes, delegates and tracks performance and documentation of analyses of mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design.
Supports proposal preparation and new business development efforts.
Performs and documents analyses.
Trains and coaches others.
Works under minimal direction.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active Top Secret U.S.
Security Clearance.
(A U.S.
Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.5+ years of experience in thermal design and analysis.3+ years of experience with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop.3+ years of experience as a lead engineer and/or in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):1+ year of experience with performing thermal testing (radiant or thermal VAC).
Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.
Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.
PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
