BOEING: Experienced Electrical Design Engineer

The position is for the design, development and integration of test equipment for satellite test and other space applications.

The position provides an opportunity work with an experienced, interdisciplinary teams to develop or modify test systems in order to meet the challenging test requirements of our business partners and customers.The engineering function of Boeing Test and Evaluation El Segundo (BT& E-ES) creates automated test systems and the hardware products used by our test operations teams onsite and at satellite launches.

For test systems and hardware products, our group is accountable for all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, requirements and design, build, integration, test, verification and product maintenance.Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT& E) El Segundo (BT&E-ES) is seeking an engineer to maintain detailed requirements and specifications for various electronic products; develop detailed designs of varying levels of complexity for test equipment; conduct various methodsof testing and verification of special test equipment (STE); provide basic engineering support and change control throughout the lifecycle of delivered products; and implement Model Based Engineering (MBE).Position Responsibilities:* Serve as lead engineer in the development of automated test systems to test satellite power subsystems and simulate loads* Duties will include requirements and interface definition, modeling and analysis, performance metrics and requirement verification.* Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.G., power supplies, harness routing and controllers)* Validate designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis.* Provide engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the test equipmentproduct.* Mentor less experienced engineers in your areas of expertiseThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

An interim and/or final US Secret clearance Post Start is requiredBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):* Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry* Experience developing and maintaining electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.G., power supplies, harness routing and controllers)* Experience with requirements and interface definition, modeling and analysis, performance metrics and requirement verificationPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):* Active security clearance* Experience with mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams of junior and peer engineers* Masters degree in engineering discipline* Experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design, layout, and testingTypical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience).
