Find your future with us.Sustainability & Future Mobility (ET&T) is currently looking for a Renewable Energy and Environmental Assessment Engineer (lifecycle Assessment) to join their team at one of several locations in Arlington, VA, Berkeley, MO, Cambridge, MA, Charleston, SC, Chicago, IL, El Segundo, CA, Everett, WA, Huntington Beach, CA, Huntsville, AL, Long Beach, CA, Manassas, VA, Renton, WA, San Francisco, CA, Seal Beach, CA, or Seattle, WA.

The Engineer will support the Sustainability & Future Mobility (S&FM) team in leading integration of renewable energy and lifecycle assessment work statement into projects across our portfolio of technical studies and innovation.

This role will include ownership and responsibility for the technical credibility of renewable energy and lifecycle assessment models and integration of models into strategic and technical assessment of potential sustainable aviation solutions.

This role will also be responsible for creating an environmental analysis capability development plan for the enterprise and building or contributing to a community of practice to support growth and integration of the skillset into businesses as needed for future product and services environmental assessment.

Position ResponsibilitiesPerform lifecycle assessments supporting technical studies and research and development aligned to Sustainability & Future Mobility(S&FM) objectivesProvide technical oversight and thought leadership for any lifecycle assessment work supporting S& FMSupport development S& FM technology roadmap through integration of key findings and technical models developed in the studiesDevelops environmental assessment capability development plan for S& FM as well as stakeholders across the enterpriseWorks under consultative directionApplies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutionsEvaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all functional and program interfacesPerforms various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.

Resolves cross-functional technical issues This position allows telecommuting.

The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryExperience working in a distributed environment and multiple teams5+ years of experience in leading projects and/or engineering teamsExperience in research and development for new technologies in an academic or professional setting Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):5+ years of experience in aircraft design and configurationExperience in collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sourcesGraduate-level work in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, energyExperience providing products and services that meet the highest technical, quality standards and regulatory requirementsExperience in identifying and correcting conditioning and behaviors that affect employee, public, and customer safety; upholding safety standards; demonstrating proactivesafety culture leadershipExperienced in stating what is needed to persuade and convince others without causing defensiveness and to inspire others to take actionExperienced in building relationships to gain support and commitment from others, promote ideas with enthusiasm, conviction, and assertivenessExperienced in understanding the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience).
