Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space and Launch Division, is seeking an Associate System Engineer (Level 2) to support the team in Seal Beach, CA.
TheSpace and LaunchTeam creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit.
We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space.
Our teamfocuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers.
Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.
Position Overview:The Associate System Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in high intensity development projects.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop and analyze state-of-the-art ground systems for national security programs, civil, and other government programs.
This role will hone in on creative solutions to complex technical problems, and work as part of a large team.
This position will focus on programmatic and schedule, requirements, design and testing.
Position Responsibilities:Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
Work Authorization:This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
An interim and/or final U.S.
confidential clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.1 year or more of experience in System Engineering.1 year or more of experience working with Agile Methodology.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience working with Cloud Architectures AWS.Experience working with Commercial off-the-self (COTS) based systems.
Typical Education/Experience:Bachelor’s and2 or more years’ experience, Master’s degree or PhD degree.
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
