Biller performs billing of medical services rendered, such as examinations, treatments and procedures to patients and government or private insurance carriers.
Biller will act as a financial counselor and council patients on costs of upcoming services, collets funds from patients, provides statements to patients, assists them with insurance related information or services.
Patient correspondence via phone, email, patient portal as to the above or any other requirements.
Assists with other billing related tasks such as claims, charge entry, reconciliation of patient accounts, preparing of deposits, reports, and any other requirements.
Job accountabilities include:+ Determine appropriate charges based on services provided; performs billing.
Reviews patient accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of claims billing maximum reimbursement.+ Reviews explanation of benefits from third party payors to determine if payment was made correctly.+ Analyzes and maintains reports to ensure timely submission of claims.
Identifies problem accounts requiring further work+ Provides information to insurance carriers or patients+ Maintains files on all documentation such as charge slips, Explanations of benefits, and client or patient information.
Prepares or distributes reports+ Refers accounts to collectors in accordance with policy.+ counseling and collecting on package costs, fees, services included, and all other requirements as to when payments due.+ Patient correspondence and providing statements and all other documents to assist patients with insurance billing, reimbursements.+ Assists patients with loans and discount programs.
Heavy patient correspondence with existing and potential patients via phone calls, mail, patient portal, wen inquires and in person patients.
Minimum Education: High school or equivalentMinimum Experience: 2 years, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experienceMinimum Field of Expertise: Medical services billing, experience with Medicare, Medi-Cal and private third party payors.
