Who You Are:
We’re looking for a dynamic BI Engineer with a passion for data visualization and reporting to help build out and grow the use of Tableau within the organization. The BI Engineer will work with the Sr. BI Engineer to help business stakeholders understand their analytical needs and apply his/her reporting and visualization skills to provide insightful and actionable dashboards.
Your Next Challenge:
Develop reports and dashboards using Tableau. (Knowledge and experience in other tools such as Power BI, Looker, Qlik etc. is a plus.)
Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and provide insightful reporting solutions. Be able to turn their ideas into reality as well as tell their story using data and dashboards.
Participate in implementing Data Governance policies and best practices.
Work with BI Architect and Data Platform Lead to assist in the design of Tableau data source, and the EDW data models.
Utilize Tableau Prep for data wrangling and minor ETL as the need arises during dashboard development.
Communicate and present reports/dashboards in a clear and professional manner to non-technical business partners.
Help troubleshoot issues with Tableau Server and Desktop.
Modify and troubleshoot existing reports.
Develop and execute database queries using SQL to conduct analyses and validate report accuracy.
Keep abreast of changing and emerging technologies and techniques in BI.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor s in Technology, Mathematics or equivalent
5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, and Data Visualization
Proven skill and experience using Tableau and Tableau Prep
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent requirements gathering skills
Experience working independently or on small teams
Comfortable working in an agile, iterative environment
Solid understanding of database and data warehouse concepts
Familiarity with Tableau best practices and Data Governance principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of SQL experience
1+ year of development experience with Tableau Prep
1+ year of experience administering Tableau Server
Experience with Power BI
Experience with JIRA
