This position will need to be available to work 1st and/or 2nd shift.RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSets up, adjusts and operates computer controlled beveling machine to cut bevel edge to plate steel components according to design specifications and company quality standards.Performs finish grinding to beveled cuts to ensure component edges are smooth and dimensions are within close tolerances.Follows production schedule, supervisory instruction and previous shift operations to determine production requirementsPerforms safety check of overhead cranes and machine operations prior to use and maintains related logs and documentationSelects blue prints and related documents for parts to be processedFollows all required quality and safety checks.Transports and positions parts using magnetic crane and forklift truckMaintains good housekeeping standards in assigned areaPerforms all duties while following established safety procedures and guidelines using assigned safety equipment and personal protective gearPerforming additional duties as required and instructed by authorized supervisor(s)TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND/OR MACHINERY USEDBasic shop and hand tools / equipment such as wrenches and hand grindersLarge overhead cranes and lifts (magnetic) and forklift trucksBasic and precision measuring instruments such as angle gauge, scale, compass, 150mm ruler, scribe, tape measure, square, calipers, etc.PHYSICAL & MENTAL ABILITIES & DEMANDSMust have visual acuity and better than average manual dexterity & hand/eye/foot coordination in order to operate both hand and foot levers simultaneouslyMust be able to work closely with others in a team environment and independently on their own both without constant direct supervision.Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without special equipmentFrequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel or operate machines, tools, controls or objects.
Frequent reaching with hands and arms, Frequent bending and stretching to move, handle and/or lift heavy partsThe ability to stand for entire shifts (sometimes more than 12 hours) and operate machines using repetitive motions and procedures.

Basic shop math (including metric measurement system), skilled use of basic hand tools.
