WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Lead Compensation Consultant who will work alongside the Global Compensation team to deliver marquee projects within the Total Rewards team, including a new job architecture and Workday implementation.

Our new teammate will be accountable for key workstreams within these major strategic projects and will manage Compensation programs that impact Nike’s broad-based employees across the globe. We are searching for someone who has developed conceptual and practical expertise in own subject area and the ability to explain difficult issues and work to build consensus. We need a seasoned compensation professional who is capable of designing and conceptualizing, as well as someone who has direct experience turning ideas into reality.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role, you will work closely with the Compensation Pay & Market Insights team to manage existing programs and put your stamp on the programs that serve Nike’s employees of the future. You will serve as a focal point for the Compensation team on the job and pay architecture project, ensuring work is developed with diverse input, delivered according to the scope of work, and the project timeline and resources are managed to achieve project goals. Additionally, you will lead the business-facing portion of the project where every employee is mapped to the new architecture, then verified by HR and management. This work will require someone who is a detailed organizer, diligent communicator, and a rapid adaptor – someone who thrives under pressure! This role will also be connected to a enterprise-wide Workday implementation, and this role will be responsible for several bodies of work in support of designing and versioning the system environment right up to our System Go-Live. You’ll also support the other Compensation teams with project progress updates, gathering business perspective into deliverables, and identifying additional areas of input and alignment to ensure project or program success.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work alongside the Global Compensation team and report directly to the Director, Market Pay Insights. You will partner closely with your business-facing HRBPs, senior business leaders, Recruiting, Talent Management, and HR Operations.

 

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field or a combination of relevant experience, education and training.
  • 5-10 years demonstrable experience in compensation including program design, job architecture, HCM systems, and business advising.
  • Excellent project management, communication, analytical, and influencing skills.
  • Strong software skills and exposure to Compensation-specific applications.
  • Advanced excel knowledge, with the capacity to develop complex formulas and models to identify root causes and/or trends.
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in compensation, including relevant legal issues.
  • Ability to work with all levels of partners and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Able to work autonomously with little daily mentorship in a matrixed environment.

Preferred:

  • Able to act as leader for colleagues with less experience; may coordinate the work of other staff members when needed.
  • Impacts a range of standard and non-standard customer, operational, process, project or service activities.
