External DescriptionThis is a remote position but will require you to go to the office in Downers Grove ocassionally as business requires.Position Summary: This position will assist in the management and execution of the Company’s benefit plans and will be responsible for managing the benefits enrollment process and provide guidance; support and assistance to managers and employees on benefit related matters.
This person will also oversee the on-boarding process for Support Center and Administrative positions.Essential Duties:Assists in the administration of the Company’s group medical, dental, life, and long-and short-term disability insurance plans, voluntary life and disability plans, flexible spending accounts and 401(k) plan Maintain effective, streamlined, user-friendly processes and procedures for managing the flow of benefit forms, documents and information between the Support Center Benefits function and branches to minimize their administrative burden.
Coordinate the maintenance of employee enrollment and contribution information in the Company’s payroll system, and ensure the timely and accurate processing of additions, changes and terminations.
Coordinate the timely submission of benefit plan enrollment forms to carriers and the maintenance of on-line enrollment systems Participates in the medical and dental insurance annual renewal and open enrollment processes Participates in the review of benefit plan provider enrollment reports and monthly billing statements to ensure their accuracy, and follow up to correct any discrepancies Coordinates the administration of medical and dental insurance continuation under COBRA for terminated employees and provides guidance and assistance to employee and managers to answer COBRA related questions and/or resolve problems Oversee the New Hire process to ensure the required approvals for open positions are completed, Support Center and Administrative staff are oriented and new hire paperwork is completed accurately and timely Position Requirements Competencies:Bachelor’s Degree preferredThree to five years of benefits administration experience Experience in a large, multi-site, union organization is required Strong communication and interpersonal skills requiredSolid knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPPA and other federal regulations regarding benefit plans Computer proficiencyMS Office and a working knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems Self-confident, energetic, tenacious, analytical and detail-oriented, with a high sense of urgency Results driven and customer oriented, with a focus on providing value-added service Working conditions: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
