Position: Associate Attorney

About the Job
The client seeks an attorney to join its Los Angeles, California office. This position requires a candidate who is an active member of the California State Bar and a minimum of two years of experience as a litigation attorney, with priority given to attorneys with experience in asbestos defense.
Qualifications and Skills:
Civil litigation or toxic tort/asbestos defense experience preferred.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
Excellent organizational, time management, research, and analytical skills.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and proactively manage a large caseload.
Ability and willingness to look at a problem from a new or different perspective and design a unique solution.
Must have ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Experience in billing required.
Job Duties:
Working up a case from initial client contact to trial (under the guidance of a supervising attorney).
Preparing and responding to discovery.
Preparing and arguing motions, including dispositive motions.
Taking percipient and expert depositions.
Trial preparation and support.
Notes
The Client is looking for 2-12 years of experience in Toxic tort and Asbestos Defense is highly preferred. The candidate should be interested in pursuing asbestos defense.
The Hybrid opportunity will be 90% remote and 10% work from office.
1900 minimum billable hours. Bonuses for exceeding.
