Tenured or Tenure-Track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor

The Keck School of Medicine of USC Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery are seeking two faculty members interested in bringing their head and neck cancer research programs to USC.

Our goal is to develop a high-impact collaborative research group building upon the existing strengths within the Norris Cancer Center.

Therefore, all areas of cancer research related to diseases of the head and neck will be considered.

Research approaches can involve either human subjects or animal models.

Some representative areas of interest include detection of circulating tumor cells, the identification of biomarkers for the early-detection and post-treatment surveillance of head and neck cancer, translational immunology and immunotherapy, fundamental cancer/head and neck tumor biology, and advanced imaging techniques for primary and metastatic tumor localization.

Necessary qualifications for this position are the ability to conduct significant, federally funded, independent research.

Candidates must have a substantial track record of meaningful research, as demonstrated by publication and funding history.

A PhD or MD degree is required.

The successful candidate must be committed to being an active member of a vibrant and collaborative clinical/research department, and be capable of interacting productively with colleagues, including graduate students, post-docs, residents, other research PIs, and clinicians, with diverse backgrounds and interests.

The position will also involve the mentorship of junior faculty members and trainees.

The preferred candidate will complement and plan to work synergistically with the existing research strengths within USC.

The principle criterion for appointment in a tenured or tenure-track position is a major commitment to research and teaching.

Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
