– Seal Beach, CA Job Description Qualifications: The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Associate Subsystem and Payload Integration Design Engineer located in Seal Beach, CA.

The selected candidate will support the development, documentation and integration of mechanical, fluid and thermal systems including the detailed design for new and modified spacecraft installations.

The candidate will work under general supervision.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with multi-discipline teams to develop mechanical subsystem and payload integration product definition including layouts, detail part definition, and installation datasets.
  • Perform trade studies to identify and evaluate multiple potential design and build options.
  • Support part fabrication and procurement, and on-vehicle installation and test.
  • Work with suppliers to define, develop and qualify mechanical, thermal and propulsion system components.
  • Develop engineering dispositions to hardware non-conformances and anomalies.
  • Support proposal preparation and new business development efforts.
  • Work with team lead to define project plans and provide regular progress updates.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time will be possible during the program lifecycle to support the engineering and production activities at ESG facilities, as well as test facilities and suppliers in various states.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

An interim and/or final U.S.

Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 1+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role.
  • 1+ years of experience and/or education in Mechanical CAD design.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to travel 25% of the time (approximately once a month).

Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.

Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.

Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.

Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
