Job Description

General Summary

Madison Marquette Real Estate Services provides analytical services and support for American Realty Advisors (ARA).You will be responsible for gathering, managing, and maintaining portfolio data, and completing product and firm questionnaires/RFIs/DDQs and other data requests from prospects and consultants related to existing and potential clients, as well as ensuring the accuracy and consistency of marketing and descriptive language in these external documents. This role involves working across all firm departments: Investor Relations, Sales/Client Service Research, Investments, Asset Management, Compliance, Accounting and senior leadership teams.

This role is based in ARA’s downtown Los Angeles office or ARAs downtown Chicago office.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to and track RFPs received from consultants and potential new clients by drafting and completing investment proposals. Create and maintain an accurate and persuasive firm investment process and product language for sales and consultant relations documents, including RFPs, RFIs, and DDQs.
  • Coordinate the consolidation of quarterly report data across departments receiving information from the Investor Relations, Asset Management, Investment, and Accounting Departments for utilization in the RFP/Database process.
  • Develop and maintain proprietary market and industry research, including from third-party providers that support investment strategies and capital raising activities.
  • Contribute as a member of the portfolio management team to prepare portfolio measurement and reporting analysis to drive fund and property-level performance.
  • Support the firm’s new business and client service efforts by responding to and creating ad-hoc analysis utilizing fund and property data from various internal and external data sources.
  • Deliver reports under strict deadlines, balancing the need for speed and efficiency with quality analysis and crisp writing that enhances ARA’s institutional brand.
  • Update consultant databases with firm and product information quarterly or on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, emphasis in Finance, economics, real estate, business management or communications preferred.
  • A minimum two years of experience performing RFP writing or data analytics, preferably at an investment management or financial services firm.
  • Familiarity with or understanding of real estate investments preferred.
  • Effective communication, writing, and editing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and software utilized in the organization (i.e. Salesforce, Tableau, Costar/PPR, Real Capital Analytics and ARGUS Enterprise).
  • Is highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced use of pivot tables, arrays, etc. Ability to automate Excel models by minimizing manual steps/inputs and using complex formulas and conditional formatting.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple action items at once and to work independently as well as collaboratively, both within the portfolio management team and with the firm’s professionals.
  • Strong project management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Understand the firm’s goals, the institutional investment management environment, and institutional real estate products, as well as competitive real estate investment strategies.
