Duties and Responsibilities

The Associate Platform Engineer will act as a technical resource for a suite of platforms that are supported by Middleware Engineering.

The initial focus will be on supporting the Appian and Apigee platforms.

 
What you’ll do as an Associate Platform Engineer:

– Provide support to federated developers who use the Appian and/or Apigee platforms

– Perform code deployments on both Appian and Apigee platforms

– Follow and refine consistent processes and procedures with an eye for optimization

– Write clear and concise documentation for developers and fellow engineers

– Assist in troubleshooting reported platform issues

– Gather and organize data for monthly reports

– Provision access for developers to development platforms

– Communicate to platform users and stakeholders of upcoming maintenance, outages, and other platform-wide events

Qualifications

– The ability to think holistically, recognize patterns, and derive next steps based on those patterns

– Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree

– Prior position in customer service preferred

– Consulting experience a plus

– Professional Skills/Competency

– Technical understanding of the following concepts: API Gateways, RESTful APIs, Infrastructure as Code, Total Quality Management, Code Repositories, Software as a

– Service, Cloud Technologies, Relational Databases and Data Modeling, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Log Analysis, Text Manipulation, JSON and XML, Configuration Management, DevSecOps, and Agile Development

– Experience with the following software: MS Visio, MS Word, MS Excel, File Transfer Software, Telnet/SSH Clients, Command Line Operating Systems, Text Editors, Project Management platforms

– Leadership Skills/Competency

– Outstanding verbal and written communications skills with the ability to listen, articulate positions, and influence outcomes beyond direct areas of ownership

– Consistently demonstrates and follows high standards of integrity in business decision-making

Job Demands:

– Must be able to review and analyze data reports and manuals; must be computer proficient.

– Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone and in person.

– Schedule flexibility and available to provide occasional evening and weekend support
