The Division Chief provides administrative and clinical leadership for the division in alignment with the enterprise mission, vision, values and goals.

The Division Chief collaborates with many stakeholders including, but not limited to: division physicians, researchers, and clinicians; the department chair; physician leadership including other department chairs and division chiefs, the Chief Medical Officer, the Chief of Medical Staff, etc.; and hospital leadership at USC and the Keck School of Medicine.

The Division Chief monitors and understand the local and national forces shaping healthcare in the US and how these forces may influence the future of the discipline.nn nnWith a commitment to innovation, the Division of Pediatric Surgery emphasizes the use of minimally-invasive surgical techniques whenever possible, which can reduce discomfort and speed recovery times in young patients.

The division has emerged as a leader in such areas as oncology and Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).

Treatment modalities are offered for endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery and Robotic Surgery as part of its Minimally Invasive Surgery program.

The Division of Pediatric Surgery is the only program in the nation with expertise in virtually every pediatric ophthalmologic subspecialty.nn nnCHLA is a premier pediatric teaching hospital affiliated with USC since 1932, which is the oldest private research university in the Western U.S.
