This position is for an Associate Avionics Systems Engineer at our Los Angeles, CA facility. The candidate will work directly with and under supervision of Senior Electrical Systems and Design Engineers contributing to realization of state-of-the-art Space Power Electronics Systems. The position requires understanding of Electrical Engineering design principles with keen interest in applying the understanding of the basic scientific principles and concepts for design and synthesis of Avionics products for aerospace industry. Working in a team environment and following established policies and procedures the candidate will be contributing in the following areas:
- Transformation of the Customer/stakeholder expectations into a problem definition and a complete set of technical requirements at system, subsystem and component levels.
- Defining product breakdown structure and establishing requirements process flow for the system under development.
- Support formulation of product development lifecycle strategies consisting of requirements capture, requirement management and flowdown, preliminary design, critical design, product realization, design verification testing, system integration, qualification and certification. Ensure that design solution complies with stakeholder requirements and expectations.
- Anticipate technical risk, define mitigation plans, and stay abreast of technology advancement.
- On an as needed basis support the Avionics Engineering for generation of technical proposals.
