Associate, Corporate Strategy, Planning & Analysis – CREWS

The Corporate Strategy, Planning & Analysis (SP&A) team at Netflix is a centralized function that is highly aligned and deeply entrenched within departments throughout the company, partnering with senior leaders in areas of financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis. We believe that we derive a significant competitive advantage from the highly analytical approach we take to managing the companys resources. The Corporate SP&A Associate will play a key role in driving analytics that guide critical business decisions, providing actionable insights, strategic analysis and accurate forecasts.

The primary focus for this Corporate SP&A Associate will be supporting our global Corporate Real Estate, Employee Health, Workplace Operations and Security (CREWS) organization. The CREWS team is responsible for creating Netflix environments and experiences that move the company forward through the management of our global real estate portfolio and workplace operations. As Netflix continues to expand globally the CREWS organization has become more complex and senior leaders depend on SP&A to provide analytical support and strategic insights to help guide this critical function of the business.

Ideal candidates for the Corporate SP&A Associate role have well developed financial acumen and financial analysis skills, know how to work with large data sets to drive insights, have exceptional partnership and communication skills, a bias toward action and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The position reports into the Manager of Corporate SP&A and will be based in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the global CREWS leadership team on key strategic, operational and financial analyses to improve performance and drive cost efficiency across our global real estate portfolio and workplace operations.

  • Performing a range of financial analysis to support senior managements strategic decision making.

  • Develop insightful dashboards, memos & presentations that summarize data and facilitate decision-making for senior management.

  • Support the financial planning processes related to headcount planning, expense forecasting, and long-range outlooks and help business partners gain key insights into spend with meaningful analyses and trends.

  • Working with partners in Accounting and Financial Operations to automate reports.

  • Coordinating monthly and quarterly reconciliations for the forecast vs. actual spend.

Qualifications:

  • 2 – 5 years of experience in a highly analytical environment (e.g. corporate FP&A, corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking) with extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis. Commercial or corporate real estate industry experience a plus.

  • Strong track record of identifying key questions; defining, performing and coordinating analyses; and communicating findings in a clear and concise way.

  • Must be a self-starter, disciplined to work effectively autonomously, while also collaborating with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders.

  • Have the ability to learn quickly, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics.

  • Highly proficient in spreadsheet analysis and financial modeling using Excel/Google Sheets and presentation development with Powerpoint/Google Slides.

  • Experience working with large data sets and business insights tools like Tableau or other data visualization.

  • Experience working with financial systems such as Workday, Anaplan, Essbase a plus.

  • Experience in accounting concepts and financial planning is a plus.

  • Bachelors Degree required. Preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate or other quantitative field. MBA or equivalent is a plus.
