The Department of Ophthalmology and Roski Eye Institute at USC is currently seeking an outstanding candidate for a full
– time, non-tenure track, Assistant Professor of Research Ophthalmology faculty to conduct interdisciplinary translational research focused on engineering approaches and discoveries towards addressing retinal disorders with no immediate cures with a thorough understanding of the biological mechanisms of ocular diseases.

Particular areas of emphasis will be the investigation of the benefits of electrical stimulation, ultrasound stimulation, and the understanding of epigenomics for the evaluation and treatment of ocular diseases both in a preclinical and clinical setting.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in preclinical model systems, clinical experience in the area of ocular diseases, preclinical and clinical retinal imaging (OCT, FA, FAF), and expertise in retinal electrophysiology.

He/she will have a strong publication record, excellent analytical skills, and ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary research team.

The candidate will actively participate in ongoing research projects, develop new research projects, present at scientific meetings, write manuscripts, and prepare and submit grant applications.

The candidate should hold a Ph.

D.

in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or relevant discipline and be highly motivated, creative, and hard
– working.
