Assistant Buyer

Jeans Warehouse, Inc is looking for a full time Assistant Buyer in our Los Angeles buying office.

Applicants are required to have at least 2 years of junior apparel buying experience and/or in related fields.

Job description
Partner with Merchandise Manager and Planner to create and maintain the appropriate merchandise mix based on emerging market trends, key items, and new opportunity buys to ensure optimal sales and inventory turn.
Maintain good vendor relations to represent Jeans Warehouse assuring competitive prices and priority on merchandise deliveries.
Review selling history and market trends to create a mix of apparel appropriate for each season to capitalize on our edge in Hawaii & Guam.
Confirm purchase orders with vendors based on detailed specifications (pricing, delivery, colors, fabric, etc.)
Work as a liaison between our merchandising team in Hawaii and vendors for any discrepancies/damages in shipment.
Work as a team with all buyers to create new season color themes and showcase trends for store merchandising directives.
Create markdown and promotion lists per company markdown cadence.
Must be able to work well individually and also as a team.
Strong communication skills in verbal and written are a must.
Must be analytical and detailed.
Must possess the ability to understand and act upon financial retail indicators such as sales, sell-through, and weeks of supply.

Must have the ability to adjust quickly to the ever changing Junior fashion trends and customer wants.
Familiarity with Excel and strong math skills are a must
College degree is preferable.
