Asset Based Lending (ABL) Underwriter

C2FO Capital Finance (“CapFin”) is a team within C2FO that offers an innovative look at working capital lending and factoring and is the fastest growing business at C2FO. By improving and innovating the technology, mechanics, and transparency around traditional credit facilities, C2FO Capital Finance offers businesses an alternative to antiquated finance options (e.g. debt from banks, selling receivables, supply chain finance programs) and helps C2FO achieve strategic goals by encouraging Early Pay usage by edge nodes in the C2FO network.

The C2FO Capital Finance team is looking for a seasoned underwriter, who will be responsible for underwriting asset-based loans and factoring transactions. This will include pre-clearing the transaction within the department, leading the deal through the process from term sheet to approval to funding and post-close for other credit-related matters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Discussions with sales team regarding new loan opportunities
  • Spreading, analyzing, and presenting financial statements to the underwriting team
  • Performing in-house background checks using external software
  • Preparing term sheet for delivery to prospects
  • Working with sales team for smooth transition of prospect from sales to underwriting
  • Performing due diligence on prospects and having regular discussions with owners, presidents, CEOs, and CFOs to create a strong working environment and set proper expectations of the credit facility
  • Preparing internal credit committee memo for submission to credit committee
  • Working on Loan Agreement or Purchase Agreement for signatures from all parties
  • Working with the account management team for smooth transition from underwriting to account management
  • Innovating within the underwriting function to allow for continued scalability

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • Energy and creativity to get good deals done quickly and without wasted effort
  • 5-10 years of experience underwriting ABL and/or factoring transaction
  • Understanding of accounting practices and collateral (accounts receivable, inventory and M&E).
  • Track record of improving processes and innovating one’s role
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to have complex conversations with prospects to understand the business model to support facility
  • Four-year degree from an accredited university or college with a focus in accounting and/or finance
