ARC: 2021 – 2022 Program Leader – After School Program – Los Angeles

A Program Leader will naturally possess a positive, professional disposition to help our school sites run effectively, will be solutions-oriented, and willing to pitch in where necessary to keep our school site on track to achieve organizational goals.Essential Functions:* Interact with our students daily, take attendance and manage sign-outs everyday* Develop lesson plans for enrichment activities they will lead* Provide academic support by working with students through homework help or supplemental learning activities* Demonstrate leadership and a commitment to educating and empowering youth to reach their full potential* Have the ability to work with and actively supervise a group of 20 or more students* Have basic knowledge of age appropriate classroom and behavior management skills* Be responsible, energetic, and creative individuals* Participates in training and development; during introductory employment period and ongoing at routine staff development meetings, Leaders in Training Program, and during site reviews* Other duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Solid after school programming skills garnered from 1+ years of relevant experience* Ability to oversee and support students and provide constant line-of-sight supervision* Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff* Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills* Demonstrated professional attitude, approach, and commitment to integrity* Proven ability to solve problems, make decisions, and resolve conflicts* Commitment to working toward the common goal of helping to provide experiential education to underserved young people at our various programsQualificationsQualifications:* Availability to work set school programming hours, including early dismissal days* Experience working with students* Experience working in after school programs or youth recreational facilities* Experience in working with ethnic and culturally diverse communities* Desire to work outdoors with students* Energetic, motivated, outgoing personalities strongly desired* Experience of marketing events to students with creativity and clarity* 48+ College Units completed or Pass on the CAPE exam* TB Test Clearance & Live Scan Clearance (Background check)* Bilingual preferred* Current CPR Certification – adult, child, and infant.Physical Demands* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.* The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms for the duration of their shift; occasionally may be required to sit.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

This position reports directly to the Site Coordinator of the school site they are placed at.

Compensation rate is dependent on regional location:* Los Angeles County $20.00 per hour
