As a Strategy & Planning Analyst in the New Business organization, you will be tasked with a combination of long-term projects and daily operational activities. You will focus on helping Compass develop its strategy to launch and scale new business units adjacent to the core brokerage business.
At Compass you will:
- Provide data-driven insights to support the ideation and execution of strategic initiatives for our new business lines with a focus on speed and scalability
- Manage, maintain and enhance ongoing planning processes and reporting activities (e.g., managing executive-facing metrics dashboards, delivering ad hoc analyses and performing industry and competitive research in support of our new business lines)
- Evaluate potential new business opportunities based on industry dynamics, expected profitability and strategic value to the Compass vision
- Provide key research and analysis to support organic growth and assess potential acquisition opportunities in new and existing businesses
What we’re looking for:
- B.A. or B.S.
- 2+ years of experience in finance, management consulting, business operations, business intelligence or corporate business development; start-up experience a plus
- Ability to own strategic, analytical, and detail-oriented functional responsibilities
- Polished visual, written, and oral presentation skills
- Ability and appetite to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical ability: proficiency in advanced formulas in Microsoft Excel is required; knowledge of or desire to learn SQL is preferred
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude
- High level of comfort operating with ambiguity and an ability to exercise judgment and solve difficult problems without direct supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Glass-half-full mentality
