AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) is a full-time service program that covers lodging and travel expenses, allowing young adults to serve on a team and make an impact in communities across the country while gaining valuable leadership skills.

AmeriCorps team leaders in the NCCC Traditional Corps program deploy to one of our training locations, then travel with a team of 8-12 young adults throughout their assigned region for 11 months of full-time, immersive service.

Apply by May 31 to begin service in Sept.

Training Locations: Denver, CO; or Sacramento, CA (Locations will be assigned upon acceptance into the program.

Applicants cannot choose their location.) Requirements to serve: Must be 18 years or older Must be a U.S.

Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident of the U.S.

Must possess a valid driver’s license Must pass an initial drug screening test upon arrival to the program Must be available to leave your hometown and serve full-time for 11 months Must demonstrate an ability to lead a team of 8-12 young adults Benefits: During service, you will receive: Basic expenses, including communal housing, meals, and a limited health benefit.

All program-related travel, including to your training location, projects, and back home after your service term.

A modest living allowance for your personal expenses.

?Forbearance for federally backed student loans.

After service, you will receive: The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $6,345 to use on future tuition costs or existing student loans.

You will lead a team through a service term of direct, hands-on service in the areas of natural and other disasters, infrastructure improvement, environmental stewardship and conservation, energy conservation, and urban and rural development.

Your team could be doing anything from building a house to running a youth summer program to repairing hiking trails in a national forest, so openness to new experiences is key.

As a team leader, you will be crucial to your team’s success.

You’ll be responsible for directing, motivating, and mentoring, a diverse team of young people.

Partner organizations and AmeriCorps staff will look to you for coordination of project logistics.
