The Boeing Company is looking for a Space Systems- Test Systems Engineer to support the Space Systems Verification & Test Chief Engineer within Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) for Government and Commercial Satellite Programs in El Segundo, California.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced, Lead, or Senior Level Space Systems – Test Systems Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development, maintenance, and vetting of technical roadmaps for Special Test Equipment development and sustainment

  • Leads critical Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts for the organization at the direction of the Chief Engineer

  • Leads anomaly review boards, reporting, and systemic issue investigations

  • Actively supports the development and integration of Design Practices for the Space Systems Verification & Test capability

  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements process and tool improvements for the organization

  • Actively promotes and implements solutions to automate data capture and leverage data analytics

  • Assist in the development and modification of process documentation to support the goals of the organization 

  • Oversee and develop creation of Design Practices and report on progress and issues to the Chief Engineer and other stakeholders 

  • Assist with project management tasks, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 3+ years of experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with Space Vehicle Testing

  • Experience with Test Equipment Development & Sustainment

  • Experience in supporting the analysis of Test Lab & Launch Campaign processes and products to ensure first time success and first pass yield

  • Experience in the development of Test Systems Architectures and Test Operations processes

Typical Education/Experience: 

Experienced Level (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead Level (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior Level (Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range level 3: $104,550 – $141,450

Summary pay range level 4: $128,350 – $173,650

Summary pay range level 5: $157,250 – $212,750

Export Control Requirements: U.S. Government Export Control Status: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
