JOB SUMMARYThe Agricultural Institute of Marin is seeking a dedicated part-time Mobile Market Weekend Assistant to support the Mobile Market Weekend Lead in ensuring the effective implementation of AIM’s Rollin’ Root operation on Saturdays.
The Rollin’ Root is a food truck stocked with seasonal fruits, vegetables, and dairy products from the farmers market.
AIM is launching a new San Francisco Route on Saturdays, serving culturally and linguistically diverse communities, especially Chinese and Spanish speakers, among others.
The Weekend Assistant plays a key role in fulfilling the Rollin’ Root’s mission of increasing equitable access to fresh, healthy food grown on local farms and providing nutrition education to underserved communities.
Please note that the shift begins and ends in San Rafael.
The Assistant assures the smooth operation of AIM’s Rollin’ Root program by helping the Lead drive to/from each site and set up and close the truck at each site, along with providing excellent customer service, including produce education, entering sales data, and conducting financial transactions.
The Assistant will work closely with the Lead to create a positive and friendly environment at the Rollin’ Root for all customers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssists the Lead in picking up cases of fruits and vegetables from the farmers’ marketAssists in driving to stops, setting up and closing down the truck at each stop: restocking, organizing produce, putting up signs, labeling produce and placing safety conesStaffs the Rollin’ Root: provides excellent customer service and assists with financial transactions, including sale of produce/grabbing produce and completing EBT/Market Match transactionsAssists Lead with ongoing Rollin’ Root operationsMaintains excellent relations with customers, staff, partners, local governmental/community organizations and businessesAssists Lead with any other tasks that need to be accomplishedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust be 21 years of age or olderMust have valid CA driver’s license and clean driving recordPhysical capacity to repeatedly lift up to 30lbs when loading/unloading produce from truck, primarily when opening and closing at each siteExcellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills, detail-orientedAbility to maintain calm, handle details and multi-task in a busy environmentSelf-starter with outgoing, sunny personality with a sense of humorEnergetic, active person who is also a team player who takes direction wellExcellent punctuality and attendanceAbility to work early mornings and long hours on route daysAbility to work SaturdaysHIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBilingual Spanish or Chinese SpeakingGeneral understanding and/or sincere interest in food, nutrition and farmingOTHER PHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to maintain clean and sanitary conditions, in a busy environmentSitting, walking, standing, twisting and bending for extended periods of timeTO APPLYPlease upload the following documents to Paylocity.
