located in Redford MI is currently looking to fill full time CNC Machinist, Vertical Lathe Operators and Horizontals Lathe Operators.
We have openings for days and afternoon shift.
Both shifts are currently running 10 hour shifts and Saturday work on a voluntary basis.
All positions contributes to the company’s success by having a thorough understanding of consistent and reliable operation of the machining equipment.
Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:Reviews shop orders and drawings to determine machining specifications and requirements.Enters computer commands to retrieve stored parts data and programs.Monitors and changes cutting tools(inserts) as neededPerforms dimensional inspection of product as required.Accountable for efficient and timely production of a quality finished product.Aware at all times of correct orientation of product being placed in machine.Knowledge of multiple types of Computer Numerical Control processes (machining, programming set up and operation) Loads and unloads product.Rough machine forgings to drawings.Monitors and changes cutting tools (inserts) as needed.Performs basic dimensional inspection of product when required.Operates equipment in constant high production environment.Starts and stops cycle of equipment as needed, through use of push buttons and levers.Removes metal shavings/chips from equipment in a safe manner.Notify supervision of any adverse conditions that may affect quality of the finished product.RequirementsExcellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlinesKnowledge of operations of Lathes machines and/or CNC Knowledge of a machining shop in the steel industryHigh School Diploma or equivalent work experience.1 3 experience in related field.BenefitsWe offer a full benefit package effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
