AeroTEC is currently seeking an Aerospace Engineer – Loads & Dynamics to join our team.

AeroTEC’s Engineering Services Division supports and provides comprehensive, full-service aerospace engineering services to customers in aircraft design and certification.

The Engineering Services Department is responsible for providing engineering consulting services related to aircraft performance, similarity analysis, reviewing and supporting certification activities, determining test requirements, and planning and documenting testing to meet customer needs.

The Engineering Services Department provides several areas of expertise in Flight Sciences, Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Powerplant & FIFA, Air Systems, Cabin Safety, Structures and Liaison Engineering.

The Aerospace Engineer
– Loads & Dynamics is responsible for structural dynamics.

This position has a wide range of responsibilities, including iterating with others on design and operation based upon analysis and available test and flight data, and even database design and software programming for tool development.

This role requires the significant exercise of independent discretion and judgment in matters of significance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
· Rapidly resolve novel structural loads and dynamics problems through analysis and test.

· Perform Flutter assessments and guidance towards Safety of Flight activities.

· Build finite element models for use in static load and dynamic simulations
· Execute loads and dynamic testing from start-to-finish (pre-test analysis, sensor selection & installation, testing, data analysis and model correlation)
· Perform analyses using commercial and in-house codes as well as write new simulation code.

· Support in both flight and ground test for flutter, loads and GVT.

Level Requirements (Minimum): Education
· B.S.

in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience
· 3 years of experience in structural load and/or dynamics
· Familiarity with FAR Part 23 and 25 loads and dynamic requirements and compliance.

· Familiarity with FAR Part 27 and eVTOL loads and dynamic requirements and compliance.

· Working knowledge of structural analysis and test, including a fundamental understanding of strength, stability and fatigue failure mechanisms
· Experience with NASATRAN (knowledge of DMAP programming strongly desired)
· Self-motivated with strong organizational, communication and documentation skills
· A “can do” attitude and the ability/enthusiasm necessary to work in a unique, fast-paced environment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Occasional travel (flying and driving) to various domestic and international worksites and client offices may be required.

Occasional travel to the Moses Lake Facility for extended periods of time during scheduled flight test operations may be required.
