Overview:Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Project and Component Engineer to join our team in Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area).

Additional information about Aerojet Rocketdyne can be obtained by visiting our website at www.Rocket.Com.This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):Under general direction, the Project and Component Engineer determines approaches to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, and practices.25% Development and fabrication support of rocket engine combustion devices components.
Translates engineering and scientific concepts from preliminary ideas through full product life cycle.25% Supplier integration with external vendors.
Prepares statement of work, specifications, fabrication and test plans.
Coordinates engineering requirements.20% Interfaces with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to provide coordination of technical, schedule and cost solutions to team objectives.20% Evaluates and verifies product design and performance for adequacy and reliability.
Supports investigation and resolution of hardware and process anomalies and issues identified by preventative action/corrective action boards or safety initiative activities.10% Develops trade studies, design concepts, systems integration and component-level test plans.Requirements:Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field and two (2) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with liquid rocket propulsion systems desired.Experience working an equivalent engineering design/development environment is desired.Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 is a condition of employment at Aerojet Rocketdyne.
