Job duties include but are not limited to:1.
Supervise a variety of laboratory standardized tests on construction materials using established AASHTO/ ASTM test methods.2.
Participate in the hiring (manpower estimation, job requisitions, defining roles and responsibilities, technical interview, job fairs etc.), technical onboarding, new hire evaluations, half yearly technical performance evaluations, audits, training need identifications, training plan and annual compensation evaluation3.
Review technical reports as required, qualify inspectors for projects based on the code requirements.4.
Participate in the quarterly review on Code changes and implement updates in AEIS work systems.
Attain compliance to codes by issuing notices for corrections; interpreting codes; recommending compliance procedures.
Record compliance by documenting progress and violations5.
Publish at least one technical article yearly in a renowned national trade magazine.
Generate other technical content on a routine basis, as defined in the quarterly rocks (SMART goals).6.
Be up-to-date on the job knowledge by tracking and understanding new standards; participate in educational opportunities, trade shows and conferences; read technical/professional publications.7.
Participate in at least one industry-specific National Technical committee, and actively participate in relevant local technical committees.8.
Be responsible for SOPs, training manuals, report formats etc.

Implement corrective action when non-conforming work or departures from policies and procedures in the quality.
Set-up the processes that shall ensure smooth operations at all levels and align them with our Quality Management System.
Be process oriented and demonstrate a logical approach to achieving results.9.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in the laboratory by following organization standards and legal regulations.10.
Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunitiesto add value to job accomplishments by complying with federal and state regulations.
Also, participate in the Innovation Lab activities.11.
Improve materials, products, and processes by recommending changes based on analytical findings; investigate and resolveconcerns; develop new tests;determine materials durability by conducting failure tests; analyze findings, sign and approve new inspection reports and inspection certificates.12.
Improve quality of test results by following ISO 17020 and 17025 standards by studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes; implement changes.13.
Maintain all necessary accreditations such as AASHTO, CCRL, USACE, IAS, NYCDOB, CLIENT, etc.
and ensure that the proficiency tests results are well within the norms specified by AASHTO and CCRL with no outliers reported.14.
Help clients by answering technical questions and introducing new lab services as per client requests.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.15.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients and their representatives, project owners and their representatives (if the project owner is not the client), Company staff, and supervisors.16.
Work collaboratively with Company supervisors on any issues that relate to improving Your performance, Your teams performance, and the Companys performance.17.
Help to implement and reinforce the above through drafting operational plans, leading by example, training, and coaching.
Develop and maintain a demonstrated ability to establish a process for activities that lead to the implementation of systems, procedures or outcomes; be driven to maximize resources and increase efficiencies.18.
Develop and maintain a proven experience in analyzing all aspects of a situation and identifying key components of a problem to formulate solutions19.
Coach and develop the team in an AEIS environment to ensure delivery against key business metrics; look for and bring to the Companys attention, methods to improve quality, efficiency and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, or improve control measures.20.
Motivate and lead a high-performance team; attract recruits, and retain required members of the management team.
Own goals and facilitate collaboration between AEIS teams.21.
Create operational plans and work collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the company and ensure excellent client service.22.
Provide subject matter expertise for all civil and geotechnical matters.Skills/Qualifications: Required: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience.
Required: Professional Engineering License with registration in New York.
Required: Knowledge of NYC Building Codes
