Actuary

Manage all actuarial aspects of the group lines of business and actively support the reinsurance and modeling functions of the actuarial department.

The person will also do special projects involving new regulations, new products and new deals.

This role will report to the Company’s Chief Actuary and work with two other actuaries on the team.

This role will be based in the Company’s White Plains, NY office.

Manage all actuarial aspects of the group products including pricing, reserving, reinsurance and deals.

Reinsurance pricing and reporting, as well as analytical and modeling support of the Company’s reinsurance programs and renewals Prophet conversion of current models and reserves Product rate and form filings for group products.

Other assignments in support of the Chief Actuary, the actuarial team and the Company’s strategic initiatives and growth priorities Job Requirements: ASA or FSA with 5-10 years of actuarial experience working in a life, health and/or voluntary products insurance company Prior experience preferable with Prophet, SAS, indemnity A&H products and medical stop loss BS in mathematics, actuarial science or related degree Knowledge and Skills: Must have high proficiency in Excel and financial modeling/forecasting techniques Basic understanding and knowledge of SAS programming (R, VBA, SQL) Prophet system and implementation experience desirable Strong desire to learn, grow and contribute to the Company’s strategic initiatives and growth plans Highly effective communication skills Proven analytical problem-solving skills Strong knowledge and understanding of insurance products and regulations, particularly group life, medical stop loss and voluntary worksite products (both on an individual and group basis)
