Description:Opportunity for aChemistwith a BS degree in Chemistry and experience with with classical chemistry methods including titrations, TLC, Optical Rotation, Karl Fischer, and many others.
This person will prepare and analyze a variety of types of samples per USP/NF/EP and other methods, perform complicated spreadsheet calculations and word processing reporting.
Must have advanced computer skills, be a self starter, understand chemistry, and want to learn.Job Duties: Performs analytical testing of incoming raw materials, and release testing of pharmaceutical productsPerforms (but not limited to) the following tests: Karl Fisher, loss on drying procedures, titrations, melting point, specific rotation, conductivity, potentiometric determination of pH, and other wet chemistry analysesConducts testing as per applicable regulatory and company guidelinesEnsures all documentation produced is in compliance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice) standardsKeep accurate, legible, complete, defensible, and complete records of all experiments and observationsPerforms analytical data reviewGenerates and completes accurate scientific reports for internal and external studies / projects based on established methodologiesUtilize instrument software and spreadsheetsFollow all Quality SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) and regulatory requirementsReview, update and write SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) as needed or as requiredFollow all SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) or OOS (Out of Specification) complaints, deviations, and Change ControlPerforms investigations of out-of-specification, out-of-trend resultsResponsible for contributing to audit readiness and for participating in quality audits with FDA (Food and Drug Administration), other Regulatory Agencies, and customers, as neededEnsures work is in compliance with all state and federal regulations, including but not limited to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration), FDA (Food and Drug Administration), etc.Informs supervisor of the status of assignment, problems, or difficulties in a timely mannerMentor and train staff membersReview and follow client requestsAssist with keeping well-maintained and clean laboratoriesExhibit a high level of safety awareness and conduct lab operations in a safe mannerOther duties as assignedSkills:Chemistry*, GMP, ” Lab tech”, Pharmaceutical, Karl Fischer, Wet Chemistry, Analytical chemistry, Titrations, Specific rotation,, SOPTop Skills Details:Chemistry*, GMP, ” Lab tech”, PharmaceuticalAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Science-Related Field Minimum 1 years of hands-on analytical bench/wet chemistry experience in a laboratory Working knowledge of Karl Fisher, loss on drying procedures, titrations, melting point, specific rotation, conductivity, potentiometric determination of pH, and other wet chemistry analysesAbility to work mandatory OT as business demandsMust live within 20 miles of Santa Fe Springs About Actalent:Actalent connects passion with purpose.
