Account Protection Specialist- Credit Bust Out (Hybrid/ Virtual)

Depending on role and business needs, colleagues will either work onsite, in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and virtual days) or fully virtually.

The Credit Bust Out Team is responsible for mitigating risk and preventing loss in a production environment and enabling spend for our customers, by handling potential credit abuse and credit bust out for Business and Consumer accounts.

Collaborating on this team provides opportunities in enhancing analytical skills and identifying potential trends in card utilization behavior.

Colleagues in this position become the designated account manager for our customers as they handle cases and complete analysis on accounts to determine if there is a possible intention by card members to defraud American Express or cause American Express to suffer significant financial loss.

Specialists assist in managing the aging of the CBO portfolio and support both inbound & outbound volume.

Successful specialists must have the ability to quickly analyze account information and identify what is hiding in the data.

Being able to make a decision in ambiguous situations and then communicate to the customer in a confident and knowledgeable way is critical to success in this role.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications
– Internal Attributes of a Successful Candidate: Strong customer service skills Ability to analyze complex account information and make effective decisions in ambiguous situations Strong oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to de-escalate difficult calls Demonstrated ability to work independently or within a team environment Strong flexibility and able to adapt to change Excellent organizational and ability to follow up/through Self-motivated and ability to manage time effectively Ability to identify and communicate solutions to process gaps Positive attitude Previous experience and success in financial or fraud segments preferred Hours of operation for the Credit Bust Out team are Monday through Friday 8am 12am EST and 12pm 4pm Saturday and Sunday.

Applicants must be available for any shift within those hours.

Shifts will be assigned upon certification of training.

Position has a starting pay rate of $24.50/hr.

Candidates who reside within 35 miles of the Phoenix Service Center will be required to work within the Hybrid Model.

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S.
