We are looking for a patent attorney who will be a member of the legal team in the Office of Counsel and will work closely with other Office of Counsel Staff and other business functions in the organization to provide legal advice to management and staff on all aspects of intellectual property, including inventions, patents, copyrights, licensing IP-related government contract issues, and other business issues integral to the organization’s operations.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a science discipline; Masters is a plus.A J.D.
degree from an ABA-accredited law school, admission to practice in one or more jurisdictions, and registration to practice before the U.S.
Patent and Trademark Office.Should have strong technical background and familiarity with both mechanical devices and software.Actual engineering experience is a plus.5 years of legal experience preparing and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications, preferably in mechanical-related and/or computer/software-related arts, and providing patentability, validity, and infringement assessments, with a law firm, federal agency, or corporation.Desired QualificationsShould have 2-3 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm or technology company handling EE/CS patent prosecution.Have superior analytic ability and project management skills.2-5 years of experience as an engineer.Passed a State Bar and the USPTO Patent Bar.Have 10 years of a law practice with substantial patent preparation and prosecution of US matters.A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering is preferred.A book of business is also a plus.What we offerHighly competitive salary401(k)Vision, Dental,life, and Medical InsurancePTOFree Office lunch
