The Absence Management Specialist primary role is managing requests for accommodation and compliance with the interactive process. The role may also support leaves of absence, workers’ compensation claims, Source America compliance (work place accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities), customer and auto accident programs. Day-to-day requests can include: evaluating medical documentation of temporary and/or permanent work restrictions, evaluating and approving leave of absence return to work for employees, facilitating the interactive process and all discussions with employees and supervisors, understanding essential job functions and potential hardships of restrictions, documentation, correspondence generation and being a core contributor of a small, but mighty team.

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years in-depth reasonable accommodation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Will consider someone currently in process of obtaining degree.
  • Moderate knowledge of Federal and State leave related regulations including, but not limited to: FMLA; ADA, FEHA and HIPAA.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and reliable vehicle in order to visit company locations as needed.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking, prioritization and organizational skills. Must be proactive.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, problems solving and detail skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Self-motivated, demonstrates initiative in all aspects of work.

This position is currently remote but will be onsite full-time within the next 8 weeks at our Corporate office at 342 N. San Fernando Road, Los Angeles, CA 90031. Competitive salary based on experience.
