We are looking for a new employee to join our outreach and distribution team to help in our day-to-day operations as well as contribute to the ins and outs of a growing business.The successful applicant will be the newest member of a fun, friendly and focused team based in Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY., but currently working remotely due to the pandemic therefore, you must be a resident of the New York Metro Area (NY/NJ/CT) at the time of employment.You can find out more about 72POINT INC here: https://72point.News/What you’ll do:Research and target contacts at various outlets with the intention of developing sustained business relationships to a diverse set of publications across digital, broadcast and other channelsContribute to periodic news conferences and brainstorms — advise in the creation of story ideas to maximize coveragePromote and grow the subscriber base of journalists to our Digital HubMonitor the progress of new relationships and coverage and report on outcomesContribute to driving new strategies for outreach and delivery of our storiesLive and breathe getting good coverage for storiesHelp plan and attend networking events to build our rolodex of working journalists who may be interested in our research Write headlines and find newsworthy angles to pitch research stories Monitoring coverage pickup and updating coverage reportsSitting in on strategy meetings and distribution-related calls with clientsRequirementsA strong experience working in digital journalism or public relationsA clear understanding of the digital news and lifestyle journalism world and knowledge of what it takes to make a good storyEnviable outreach skills: You relish the ability to drive new connections, create distribution opportunities and partnerships.
We want someone happy to pick up the phone, knock on doors or socialize with news editors and journalists.
Wordsmith: Someone with a strong understanding of news writing who can easily rewrite a story to match the style of various digital platforms and publications.
