Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.Position SummaryThe Custodian performs custodial, Regularly cleans and disinfects restrooms, offices, common area space ; stocks and keeps inventory of facility paper products and supplies and responds to emergency calls relating to janitorial services, implements setup and takedown for a wide variety of events; works closely with employees and to meet the custodial needs of the facility, and surround ground area to ensure efficient and safe operations.Essential FunctionsPerforms routine and comprehensive custodial assigned to the facilities. Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure. Vacuums, shampoos and spot clean carpets and furniture; identifies stains and uses proper chemicals for removal. Removes trash in accordance with established procedures. Regularly cleans and disinfects restrooms, offices, waiting area and other common areas; stocks and keeps inventory of facility paper products and supplies. Reports and responds to emergency calls for custodial assistance. Responds to service requests, coordinates resources, and implements the set up and take down of furniture and equipment for a wide variety of staff, and clients. Performs various custodial duties such as changing light bulbs and fixtures in restrooms, and classrooms. Strips, cleans, buffs and applies floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuums and shampoo carpets. Maintains inventory and submits written requests for supplies; tests and evaluates new supplies and equipment. Receives the supply order and stocks it. Operates and maintains power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc. Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers. Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds. Launder cleaning rags and dust mops. Have essential physical and mental capabilities in the following: Interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, following directions, comprehension, calculating, and reading. Performs related duties as assigned.Working ConditionsAbility to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer and telephone.
