Veterinary Technician – Surgery

ACCESS South Bay is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery team!

Our Surgery department is looking for a professional, ambitious, self- motivated technician who look forward to fast-paced days and enjoy being a key player on a dynamic team providing the highest standard of patient care. Our ideal candidate would have a strong personal desire to be the best in their field, and an established record of performance with a minimum of 4 years working as a veterinary technician.

The surgical technician role is a full time position. Our team is hard working and dedicated to each other, our hospital, and our patients. We are seeking someone with advanced surgical, and anesthetic skills and training to support our busy team with our procedures on a daily basis.

This role would have a 4 day work week, most likely Mon-Thurs. This team also has mandatory on-call hours.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

– Ensuring safe, effective and efficient medical processes from check in to discharge
– Assisting with pre-surgical medical screenings, patient induction, surgical preparation and anesthesia monitoring.
– Assisting veterinarian during surgery, surgical set up and recovery
– Monitoring the health of all patients throughout the day
– Provide medical information to clients and answer questions as needed
– Providing training and direction to additional surgical support staff as needed
– Preparing the clinic for the next surgical day – instrument cleaning, surgical pack preparation, thorough cleaning of surgery, cages and treatment room.
